Letters were sent to parents of 11- to 15-year-olds (in Years 7 to 10), inviting their children to take part. The final sample included 25 Year 7s (approx. 12 years old), 25 Year 8s (approx. 13 years old), 21 Year 9s (approx. 14 years old) and 15 Year 10s (approx. 15 years old). Participants were tested in a quiet room in their school on four computerised tasks (Simple and Complex Go/No-Go tasks, Numerical Stroop task and Science and Maths misconception task) and on the WASI-II.
