    Description

This dataset was collected for the Open Research Survey of 2017.

The data supports the linked report in BIROn.

    Collection Method

38 questions were put to staff, all to be answered anonymously. We did not ask for any identifying information to allow staff to answer more freely. This also made the ethical approval process more straight forwards.

The survey tool used was BOS by JISC (previously Bristol Online Surveys). This tool allowed for a good survey structure, with some conditional questions. It allowed for all the types of response we wanted, and presented the data in a way to allow easy interpretation.
